The One Skirt I’m Buying After My Shopping Freeze 🛍️
Welcome back to Wear & Why, a newsletter by Beam by Bronte! ☀️
If you’re here, it means you care about style that feels like YOU—not just what’s trendy or what fills your closet, but what actually makes you feel confident, put-together, and effortlessly chic.
Each week, I’ll be sharing styling insights, shopping finds, and a little something extra to inspire not just your wardrobe but your lifestyle, too. My goal? To help you get more out of the pieces you own, shop smarter, and feel amazing in what you wear.
Today’s Show Notes:
Style Insight: Digging into “M” from MVP-A: Mood
Shopping Find: I have less than a week less in my 3-month shopping freeze and this is #1 on my list to buy on April 1.
Lifestyle Pick: an easy read with a big impact
Let’s get into it!
Style Insight
Last month, we discussed my strategy for finding your personal style: MVP-A. This framework gives you structure while still allowing room for creativity, so you don’t get lost in trends, sales racks, or endless Amazon storefronts.
Today we are going to dig into Mood and how you can brainstorm your word(s).
How do you want your clothes to make you feel?
Think back to your favorite outfits—whether from everyday life or special occasions. Consider these questions:
What words describe how you felt wearing them? Maybe you felt confident, elegant, powerful, or carefree.
Do any common themes or feelings connect these outfits? Perhaps you always feel your best in tailored blazers, flowy dresses, or bold accessories.
Example: If one of your favorite outfits is a structured blazer with jeans, you might describe the feeling as "polished," "confident," or "balanced."
Try this: Go through old photos and save the ones where you love what you're wearing and how you felt in the outfit. Create an album as a personal style reference and look for patterns—do certain colors, silhouettes, or styles keep appearing? These clues can help you define your ideal style mood.
Another way to uncover your style mood is by looking back at what you loved to wear as a child.
This isn’t about recreating old outfits (no need to pull out the tutu or superhero cape—unless you want to!). Instead, it’s about reconnecting with the side of you that dressed for joy, playfulness, or self-expression,without worrying about trends or opinions.
Example: When you think of your younger self getting dressed, what feelings come to mind? Did she feel fearless? Playful? Free-spirited? Colorful?
Your personal style should make you feel like the best version of yourself—just as it did when you dressed for joy, not just for function.
Need some inspiration thinking of words? Use the below to help you articulate exactly how you want to feel.

Shopping Find – One Piece, Three Ways
This skirt is my newest obsession and is number one on my list when my three-month shopping freeze expires at the end of March. It feels perfectly transitional as we enter spring but light enough to be worn through summer.
Here’s how you can make it work for different occasions:
☀️ Date Night – Low key but still vibey and flirty
☀️ Casual & Cool – I love the mix of colors and the silver cowboy boots are chef’s kiss

☀️ Weekend Lounge – Keep it comfy without defaulting to sweats or your workout clothes.
Think about how your MVP-A framework can guide your styling choices! These outfits are meant to inspire you to make your pieces work in many ways – not to be a copy paste without consideration of your own style.
Whether you prioritize mood, practicality, or vision, this piece can flex to fit your wardrobe.
Lifestyle Pick
Style isn’t just about what you wear—it’s the music you listen to, the food you eat, the books you read.
This week, I’m sharing my favorite recent read. It’s an easy book to pick up, with bite-sized chapters, but packed with thoughtful nuggets to chew on throughout the day. Here’s one of my favorite excerpts (though at this point, half the book is earmarked):
“Forget not the magic. Don’t be so busy being productive that you betray your soul’s longings and become boring, uninteresting, and lifeless. Don’t be so serious that you stop laughing at silliness. Don’t be so driven that you forget how to be human.”
It’s a reminder that life isn’t just about checking boxes—it’s about infusing joy, creativity, and personality into everything you do. Whether it’s the way you dress, the way you move through your day, or the way you make time for play, magic happens when you let yourself be fully alive.
Purchase the book here – or, my personal preference, stop by your local library to check out a copy.
Let’s keep the conversation going! Which of these three outfit ideas is your favorite? Hit reply and let me know! Or, tag me on Instagram if you try styling this piece yourself—I’d love to see how you make it your own.
Thanks for being here. Can’t wait to style together! ☀️
